How long is the service and what can I expect
- Before service from 9:45 until 10:30 we have a community breakfast to fellowship and encourage one another. All are invited. Various families in the church volunteer to bring breakfast so don't feel obligated that you have to bring something to attend. Various members of the church choose to honor God by serving breakfast: James 2:17 (NLT) “Faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” Titus 3:14 (NLT) “Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT) “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT) “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”
- Service is typically 90 minutes. Starting at 10:30 a.m.
- Horn - We utilize a ram's horn called a Shofar in parts of service symbolizing unity, the spirit of God, healing and worship - Psalm 98:6 "With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—shout for joy before the Lord, the King." This is often sounded at the start of worship, sometimes during worship, offering and at the conclusion of prayer.
- Praise and Worship - These are contemporary songs projected onto a screen for you to sing along or engage how you feel comfortable. All children are invited up front to assist in leading worship.
- You are invited to clap Psalm 47:1 "Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!"
- sing Psalm 95:1 "Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation."
- dance Psalm 149:3 "Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp."
- tambourine and instruments Psalm 150:4 "Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes!"
- Banners and Flag Waving Psalm 20:5 "May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers."
- raise your arms Psalm 63:4 "I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer."
- sit if you physically need to during worship. (We want you comfortable)
- We also sing some old hymns from time to time.
- The last Sunday of every month is "Popcorn Sunday" where popcorn is available after worship and during announcements. Hebrews 10:24-25: "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."
- Tithe & Offering - We take up tithe and offering at the same time. Sometimes for special services we take up an offering. Many choose to give online via thithe.ly. Others place tithe in the plate when it is passed during service. Tithe: -
As an act of worship and thanksgiving to God, we are called to give 10% of our best, our first fruits which has happened through Old and New Testament scripture and commanded by Jesus recognizing our service to the kingdom is even more important. Luke 11:42 "What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things." Offering: - Tithes often support the church's operational needs, while offerings can be directed towards specific causes, projects, or charitable work. offerings are voluntary and given out of personal conviction and generosity. 2 Corinthians 9:5-10 5 So I thought I should send these brothers ahead of me to make sure the gift you promised is ready. But I want it to be a willing gift, not one given grudgingly. 6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”[c] 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”[d] 10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity[e] in you. - Communion - The congregation will have a corporate communion monthly and sometimes administered by the pastor. Communion is always available in the back for you to take on your own during worship. The first Sunday of every month we take communion together during service. We celebrate open communion meaning all who have accepted Jesus are invited to participate. There are no scriptures giving an age or requirement for taking communion other than examining your heart. We leave parents to discern when it is appropriate for their children to partake in communion. 1 Corinthians 11:27-29 "So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself."
- Praises - We believe in the miracles that were performed for centuries throughout the bible. We believe giving God praise for his miraculous works honors him. We take answered prayer requests and place them on the praise report board. Psalm 9:1-2 "I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High."
- Prayers - We deem prayer important and an essential form of worship, including the role in our life and the responsibilities of church leaders in encouraging congregational prayer. The power of corporate prayer, unity, and strength in numbers, with examples from the Bible are imperative. The scriptural basis for prayer includes references such as Matthew 18:20, James 5:14-15, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, and Philippians 4:6. We also believe in how prayer moves God, supported by scriptures like 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Mark 11:24.
- Incense - Is utilized sometimes during prayer and the pastor giving the message. It is referenced multiple times throughout scripture as part of prayer and church service: Revelation 8:3 Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great amount of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God’s people as an offering on the gold altar before the throne. Exodus 30:7-8 “Every morning when Aaron maintains the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar. And each evening when he lights the lamps, he must again burn incense in the Lord’s presence. This must be done from generation to generation."
- Handkerchief - Handkerchiefs are prayed over and given to members of the congregation for healing or to take to the sick. Acts 19:11-12 "God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled."
- Candles - We use candles in weddings, funerals, special services and service as a representation of the spirit of God penetrating into us. Proverbs 20:27: "The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive."
- Birthdays - We believe God loves for us to celebrate our years and therefore we sing happy birthday to those having a birthday during that week. Isaiah 46:4 "I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you."
- "Stump the preacher" - This is an interactive time with the children to ask questions of the pastor and see if the pastor is stumped. Children also provide memory verses and memorize chapters. Various rewards are provided in the service for their achievements. This is acknowledged by the entire congregation supporting our young children growing in Christ. Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.'"
- The children are dismissed to go to class in the fellowship hall. Some families choose to have their children remain in the service. Some Sundays the children stay in the service.
- Fire / Flames - The pastor frequently uses fire in the message solidifying the voice of God - Deuteronomy 4:12 "And the Lord spoke to you from the heart of the fire. You heard the sound of his words but didn’t see his form; there was only a voice. "
- Message -Discover Your Place in God's Grand Design: Our pastor delivers inspiring, Bible-based messages that illuminate how your unique story fits into God's magnificent plan. These sermons provide guidance on finding personal meaning, identity, mission, and purpose. Learn about the spiritual battles you must face, who you truly are, and what you are destined to endure. Invite your friends, family, and anyone seeking a deeper connection with their faith. Together, we can strengthen our homes and support each other on this incredible journey. 1 Timothy 4:13 "Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them."
- Prayer - The pastor provides a benediction and people are dismissed. The pastor, elders and others remain for individual prayer at the end of the service for those who desire to remain for prayer.
- Potluck - Monthly after service we have a potluck fulfilling Acts 2:46-47 "They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."
Is there a dress code
We have a firm belief that Jesus meets you where you are. Some are comfortable wearing a shirt and tie while others wear jeans and a T-shirt. We love you for who you are, not what you wear so come the way you feel comfortable.
My kids
Our goal is for the kids to have a awesome time at church while learning biblical principles. This is our priority. Their safety is also a top priority. Children's classes are monitored by surveillance. All teachers have passed a background check. Of course your children are always welcome in the service if you are more comfortable. Children's church is offered for kids from kindergarten through fifth grade. Toddlers class is offered for kids from nine months through preschool.
